Only SVS would design a new driver for just one subwoofer model. It's just another example of how far we're willing to push the envelope to achieve our performance goals. The 13-Plus woofer is an exclusive hybrid design using the best parts from our 12-Plus and 13-Ultra woofers, along with a unique voice coil optimized for this application, and an additional gap extension plate to achieve even more linear stroke and lower distortion.

Sledge Amplification – Intelligent and Sophisticated Power
The Sledge STA-1000D amplifier is a perfect match for the Plus-13 woofer, packing 1,000 watts of power and sophisticated DSP control. Comprehensive and extensive menu options are accessed via an intuitive single-knob interface with LCD display, allowing for easy set-up and integration into any home theater or stereo system.

The amplifier equalization curve is specifically optimized for the SB13-Plus application, resulting in a broad and gradual roll-off profile, giving the SB13-Plus the lowest group delay and best transient response of any SVS subwoofer. This roll-off profile also allows the SB13-Plus to take the most advantage of available 'room gain', and under optimal conditions can result in extraordinarily deep in-room extension to below 10 Hz!

I purchased the SB13-Plus to replace an Acoustech H-100. The H-100 is a capable sub, and in the 3-4 years I've had it, it's produced a great
experience. However, the H-100 has been through several moves with me, and it's starting to break down.. so.. enter the SB13-Plus!

The
SB13-Plus and the H-100 are the EXACT same size, I was surprised by this, given the weight difference. The SB13-Plus is about twice as heavy as the
H-100. The build quality on the SB13-Plus is miles ahead of the H-100, there are no rattles or loose parts.

How does it sound? Well, it's
awesome.. the bass is so precise and clean, that it's a bit unnerving at first (coming from the boomy H-100), since I found myself playing at higher
volumes. Not having the "boom" and distortion means you can crank your volume level higher and it doesn't feel harsh or sound bad. The
clarity is increased, and I could be crazy, but I swear that I perceive additional clarity from my other channels. (perhaps better bass integration? -
I'm happy whatever the cause)

The metal grille is nice to have, especially with a baby that will surely find the subwoofer interesting and
try to touch the driver :-)

The customer support at SVS is outstanding, every time I've sent an email inquiry , I've received a prompt,
INTELLIGENT response.

I'm happy I spent the money on this product, and would recommend to anyone.

SVS sent me an e-mail specifically asking me to review their products. I'm not sure why they would do so. I purchased several of their products and
while I do in fact like the products themselves (hence the two stars), I would not purchase from the company. I have written to their customer service
on three occasions (and called once) since purchasing from them, and have never received any response back of any sort. I would not purchase from them

I bought the SB13-PLUS in cherry to provide a solid foundation to my Canton Ergo 5.1 system after reading a number of "pro" reviews. I was
going to buy the Canton sub at $1600 but I'm glad I got the SVS instead.

Ordering was easy online and shipping was quicker than estimated,
over the Christmas period!

This sub is beautifully made, with its real cherry veneer, and it complements my Cantons. It is very heavy, at
over 90lbs. The isolation within this baby is outstanding. If I place my hand on the top of the cabinet with loud music or HT playing I can feel
absolutely no movement or vibration in the cabinet whatsoever. Even in the bassiest and boomiest parts.

This all adds up to a very tight,
deep and powerful bass experience with both music and HT.

The unit has all the connections you could need. I also like the control and
LCD.

The SB13-PLUS performs way beyond its price.

I've owned the SB13-plus for about a year and couldn't be happier. Prior to buying the SB13-plus, I auditioned a number of high end subs, both ported
and sealed. This was the easy choice. My usage is about 50/50 music and HT. This sub excels at both. It's the perfect solution for someone who
values tighter bass for music tracks but still wants the low frequencies in HT use.

Long story short, since all my other gear is Paradigm Studio Series, I was continuing to save up for their Sub12($2500+). A friend suggested I look
around for a better sub for the money. And I am so glad I did!!

The SB13-Plus is just incredible; Craig said it best--very tight and deep.
Fantastic build quality. I honestly can't remember the last time I've had an overall more impressive experience with a company; from the
quick/informative initial inquiries from Jack sales mgr, to ease of ordering, to speedy/flawless shipping/packaging, to quick and clear setup, to the
sub vibrating my house.

SVS rocks!!!!!!

This is a fantastic subwoofer for the price. I had the opportunity to test it head to head against the Paradigm Sub 12 in my home (which is the only
way to test equipment). The SB13 sounded just as tight, dug a little deeper, and did so at just over half the cost of the Sub 12.
