Impressive speakers. I have a pair of the Ultra Bookshelfs with the Ultra Center and SB13-Ultra Sub in a Den TV room (in-ceiling rear speakers) for movies and music. I wanted a solid setup For an area that is not the main media room, but one that we spend a lot of time in. I did not know how good this room could sound until now.
I don't think that I've ever heard a small speaker setup that rivals this anywhere near the price range. I've got the Ultra Towers in the media room for comparison and these are at least 97% as good in a slightly smaller room - especially coupled with the Ultra Center and SB13-Ultra sub.
Watching demanding blu-ray movies on this setup revealed no weak points even at movie theater volume levels. Details remain crisp and well-balanced with excellent soundstage on sources like the Eagles Hell Freezes Over DVD DTS 5.1. The previous setup in this room was a bit fatiguing (harsh) to listen to for long periods of time - even the wife commented that my new SVS speakers were a real improvement.
Speakers are beautifully finished. You may want to use felt squares for feet (vs the included hard rubber feet) if the placement location is has even a bit of uneveness.
The entire buying experience was a pleasure and email setup questions were answered incredibly fast. You get what you pay for and in the case of SVS - you get amazing speakers AND great customer service and support. Thanks guys!

This Bookshelf are the Real deal, if you want a High End sound in your home, you should get this speakers.
They are good for movies and even better for Music, you can hear everything in the track, every single detail of the instruments and the bass it's very good too, i was very impressed when i was listening to Harry Connick, Jr. it Had to be you (trio instrumental), you can smell the High End in the soundtrack, very well balanced and smooth, you feel like u actually in from of the band live in concert AMAZING!!! and this bookshelf can go louder enough to fill a room with plenty high end Sound, ABSOLUTELY A MASTER PIECE!! Thanks Again SVS to builded a High End

I used these speakers to replace my old surround B&W speakers. The speakers were much more than I expected and deliver excellent sound. I am hearing things on my Blu-Rays and DVDs that I did not notice on my older speakers. There is much more bass response than I expected. That was the first thing I noticed. However, as you listen to them over time, you start hearing sounds that were hidden or muddles on my prior speakers. These really make the theatre experience better than the speakers they replaced. Well worth the money.
