Small subwoofer cabinets are not conducive to big bass, which presented a challenge for SVS engineers when designing the SB-1000 and its compact 13x13x13-inch enclosure. Refusing to sacrifice performance for size, SVS engineers threw out preconceived notions and designed a subwoofer with massive output and remarkable low frequency extension, especially relative to its size and price. Commanding 12-inch SVS High-Excursion Driver

SVS packed the compact SB-1000 subwoofer with a front-firing 12-inch driver, massive dual ferrite magnets and FEA-optimized internal motor technology for high output with extremely low distortion. The lightweight cone material of the long-stroke driver reproduces subtle audio tones and massive low frequency impact with lifelike realism. Durable rubber surrounds ensure long-lasting performance, even when the subwoofer is pushed to its performance limits for extended periods of time. Authoritative and musical, the SB-1000 a perfect option for serious music or home theater lovers.

Powerful and Sophisticated Sledge STA-300D Amplifier

STA-300D Amplifier

Conservatively rated at 300 watts RMS, 700+ watts peak power, the Sledge STA-300D amplifier maintains precise control of the subwoofer at all drive levels so you can push to reference volumes without distortion. A sophisticated DSP is perfectly tuned to the unique driver and cabinet configuration and its equalization curve is optimized for enhanced transient response and room gain, making the subwoofer sound much bigger than its size. The SB-1000’s ability to start and stop on a dime and stay true to the source material is a performance hallmark normally reserved for much more expensive subwoofers. The advanced DSP engine also allows for fine tuning of audio playback and easy set-up and integration into any home theater or stereo system.

Sonically Inert and Rigidly Braced Cabinet

Thermal management is critical when dealing with such a powerful amplifier and motor in a compact sealed cabinet, so SVS implemented a unique vented pole piece and efficient high-power voice coil to keep the SB-1000 subwoofer cool without impacting performance or adding noise. The cabinet is rigidly braced and sonically inert so the bass you hear is always effortless and pure, even at the highest drive levels.

Weighing in at an easily movable 27 lbs, the SB-1000 is SVS’s lightest and smallest subwoofer, making its 24Hz to 260Hz (+/- 3dB) frequency response all the more impressive.

    Perfect subwoofer in a small room.

    I have been very impressed with this subwoofer. The sound is extremely accurate, which is something I'm not used to. Up until now, I've only had ported subwoofers, and they're great for movies but music can be a mixed bag. This subwoofer is absolutely perfect for music. I haven't heard a song that sounds like the subwoofer is straining or bottoming out. I was worried about volume with a sealed subwoofer since they aren't as efficient as ported but it fills my bedroom with all the bass I could want and it's only set at about three quarters volume. I have enjoyed the fact that this subwoofer retains the same sound characteristics at both low volume and high volume. I can really dial it in and forget about it unlike my ported subwoofers that aren't loud enough at low volumes but seem to hit an invisible threshold and wake up. For my application in my small bedroom, movies sound just as good as music!

    However, I did hook this up in my living room. I was replacing two Polk PSW-505 subwoofers. Probably not a fair comparison as I was replacing two subwoofers with one but, you never know, SVS has a big reputation... It simply wasn't enough as my living room is large and has tall ceilings. Don't get me wrong, it still performed well and quite a few people would be very happy with the performance but the little SVS wasn't enough for me in that particular setting. So I do believe this is best meant for small to medium rooms. I kind of figured that would happen and I'm not…

    Best sounding sub in this price range!!!

    Wonderful upgrade to my current system! I have 2 tower speakers with amazing highs but were lacking somewhat in the lows. The SB1000 provides clean, tight bass that goes deep and yet still integrates seamlessly with the towers. Small powerhouse that punches well above its price.

    My SB1000 arrived with a faulty amp. I emailed telling of the problem, they walked me through diagnosis of problem, with clear instructions along with photos. Within 2 days I received new amp, which I installed.Great product, service! After shaky start they earned my endorsement! And 5 star review. Thanks guys you were great

    SB-1000 Subwoofer

    So far so good! Small cd station in my office with an OPPO 103 and Niles SI-2100 stereo amp driving 2 NHT SuperZero 2.0 speakers. Provides decent bass, still experimenting. I believe integrating/evolving it will produce even better sound!
