This is without a doubt the best $1,000 bucks I've ever spent! SVS as a company is fantastic to deal with. I researched on-line and SVS kept coming up so I checked out the website. After reading many positive reviews, I decided to give them a call. Well, when I did, to my surprise a real person answered the phone. And to further my astonishment, he was the designer of the cylinder subs! What other company can you say that about. He listened to me describe my room and equipment and then suggested a sub smaller (and cheaper) than I was originally considering. However, he told me that IF I liked to listen at reference levels the PC12-Plus will get me that incremental 95-100% without distorting. Man oh man was he right! I went with the PC12-plus and I've never experienced the sub-sonic level in my home ... it shakes the couch and you can feel the bass in your stomach. Prometheus and War of the Worlds have scenes that are like a theme park ride. The bass is never boomy, just mind numbing! (I'm out of superlatives but you get the point -- I LOVE this product).

Oh and I was also getting a new receiver and SVS actually offered to walk me through the auto-set up so that I got the best experience from their product. WOW!

This is the FIRST time I've ever left feedback for any company but I feel that strongly about this product and this company that I had to do it! I bought this based on other's feedback so hopefully this helps someone else off the fence and ... BUY IT!!!!! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!!

I'm an SVS customer for LIFE and recommend their products to anyone who will listen.

Only a few days in but very impressed overall. A completely different sound than the budget sub I started with (I should hope so!). I have a very large space and can only fit one sub...oh I could fit more but can't, if you know what I mean. It's our living room and it has to be approved. The space is easily 5,000+ft^3 with all of the connecting rooms thanks to the open floor plan.

With my old sub, by the time I had it up enough to really hear it, I was not happy with the boomy-ness. I chose the PC line because it fit in the corner (a requirement) and I liked the look, I chose the plus version because of the price, driver, amp and ability to tune it (both via the ports and onboard eq and amp setting). I would describe the sound as very effortless, never boomy, even though I have the sub a little hot over the Yamaha receivers automatic level setting (2-3db depending on the material). I haven't dialed it in with an SPL meter yet but it is much harder to locate (at the same crossover setting) and of course has greater control, output and extension.

I look forward to playing with the other settings and enjoying the flexibility to really dial it in to suit my taste, I have it in 16Hz mode now and can't wait to get some free time to experiment.

Lastly, SVS will my business from now on. They took more time than some of their main Internet Direct competitors in listening to my situation and expectations and giving me real answers and information to think about while I made my decision. If you are on the fence, I recommend to give them a try! The 45 day free trial is great and the return cost, if you so chose, is not really that terrible to have the chance to audition the equipment in your listening space.

All I can say is WOW!!! This is a monster! Outstanding tight bass that is crisp and quick. I auditioned severals subs before purchasing the SVS and nothing came close to the performance of the Plus. SVS customer service has been top notch.

i am very happy with the product and i am thinking about getting another one so i can run 2 subs.

This was a replacement for a small DefTech sub that was taken out by a power surge. I spent a LOT of time researching - from the first contact with SVS to 2 years into owning this sub I've had nothing but "good vibrations"! Love the sound and feel of the subwoofer; it is affectionately known as the water heater. My daughter and I still grin at each other when we're watching a movie and the sub kicks in.

This sub is probably the best value for sound equipment I've ever spent.

Years ago I had a 16-46PCi subwoofer from SVS (long discontinued from what I can see). I loved it, but had to sell the beast due to a few different reasons. After all those years in the wilderness, SVS finally finds it's way back into my living room, and in a big way. While the 16-46 was an impressive sub, this PC12-Plus mops it off the floor.

The pros: I honestly don't know if this sub is good for my house. My old JBL did a decent job with the tripod emergence scene from War of the Worlds, but the SVS shook the room so hard that I was actually scared. I heard bass effects in Transformers and King Kong that were inaudible before. Through all this, the SVS never sounded like it was anywhere near breaking a sweat, with even the heaviest bass sounding perfectly clean. The sub's ability to be tuned to one of three configurations helps this mean tube fit in to almost any setup.

Cons: The only real big one is that the amplifier can be a bit confusing to configure. Much as I appreciate SVS's theory behind making everything dependent on one knob, in some cases I would have preferred discreet controls. Also, there's no hiding this beast. It is big, and it looks like it means business.

Inconclusive: I like good sound, but I'm not an audiophile, so I can't really nitpick about the SVS in music situations. It sounds good, and I'm happy with it.

Most people that have never heard the intense subharmonic bass in modern soundtracks are skeptical (If not downright dismissive) of such a relatively expensive purchase, especially when it's 'just a sub'. This SVS has so far silenced two of those people, both of whom sat in awe of the massive power coming out of this tube.

I have the plus with the bash amp. I think the drivers are the same. Great sub. Very musical. The first night I had a movie on and the sub shook and ac adapter out of the wall. If you watch a lot of blu-rays at high volume levels I would go with the ultra. I plan on upgrading soon. I'll be keeping the plus in another room. I love SVS and their products. Customer for life.

I love the base from my PC12-Plus. It absolutely rocks the house and gives you the full movie experience. The woofer has not proven to be very robust. I have had to replace it twice within 10 years. This second time they were very good about covering it under warranty. Replacement woofers are not cheap. I hate to do it but I might turn the gain down to see if i can preserve the unit.

When I played the first CD on my new sub, the sound was amazing...rich and warm without being thumpy. Maybe it's the bottom-firing design and long ports, but the sub seems to sound more natural than many others I have heard. When I played the first Blue Ray disc, the sound went to an all new level. It was powerful and muscular, but still very natural. It's a terrific sounding sub overall, and I recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone who wants a realistic sound for music and movies. I also like the form; mainly because it is different than the typical dorm-fridge box....although I debated back and forth between the PC model and the PB model. I'm very happy with my decision...it looks great and sounds great. And hey...even my wife likes it!

My PC12-Plus has been absolutely great. The sound is unbelievable and I had zero problems after two years of use. As an MIT electrical engineer, SVS cylinders have the best sound for the buck. I refer to it as my obsidian beer keg.

I have had an earlier version of the PC plus (39 inches tall) for about 5 years and it has impressed virtually anyone who had the opportunity to hear it. I must also mention something about the superb customer service I received. Recently we had a power surge in our house that burned out the BASH amp. A local repair shop wanted $600 for the repair. When I went on-line and posted a message (AVS forum) whether this repair was worth it, someone from SVS answered with a suggestion that I call them. A replacement amp was $200 for my model and an SVS tech walked me through the process of removing the old amp and replacing it with the new. Everything worked perfectly and my cost was one third of going through a local shop. I was quite impressed with the support I received. Thanks SVS.

This sub is an imposing unit. But if you have the physical and visual space, and want clean, true, seriously dynamic bass that will blow off your socks, then this is it. There is no muddying mid-bass bloat. No, all that you will hear is that subterranean sound that is actually there. It will make your movies come alive. There is a vast difference from what other manufacturers call subs.

I was looking to upgrade my home theater sound and it was suggested by many people to look at my replacing my current sub since the area it was now in was a bit large for it's capabilities. I contacted SVS who worked with me to find a sub that not only would give me a lot of bass response but also fit into my room well. Deep Bass response over my trusty MK sub which was a huge improvement for my home theater.

One thing nice about this sub is it can be pushed in a corner or behind something but remember this sub is tall compared to box subs so keep that in mind.

First of all the customer service from SVS is outstanding. It took a week for an international delivery which is excellent. This sub is just amazing and equally suited to music and home theatre. The scene from 2012 felt as if it was happening right there. My music has never sounded better this. This is an excellent subwoofer and can handle any you throw at it. This is well worth the price.

picked up a used plus for system ,i have had it for 3 days its very very good, i just picked up a new pc12nsd also for same room, i find the plus has a little more depth and the gain setting is at 10am were the nsd is at 12 when calibrated. both together are amazing, i played 1 then the other and would say the plus is just a bit better the nsd is very close .on movies they both move lots of air and go very deep, music i like the nsd a bit better seemed smoother not sure why. but at end of day the 2 together are a perfect match in the room, both great subs no matter which 1 you get
