SB-2000 - Piano - Outlet - 5068

So, I wanted to update my review below after owning the second SB-2000 for a little bit but wasn't able - hence, this second review. First, I'm not an audiophile but I do enjoy a wide variety of music, and I like it LOUD. Let me just say that after finally taking some time with the miniDSP 2x4 HD to really flatten the response in our family room (which is quite challenging to compensate for; see pics) I am once again amazed at what these little dynamos are capable of! If you don't watch movies with Ultra-LFE (Marvel, Sci-Fi, etc.) or listen to bass-heavy EDM or Hip-Hop, a pair of these are just phenomenal. The way that they reproduce R&B, Jazz, Classic Rock, basically most music recorded without digital bass enhancement, can only be described as amazing (to my ears). They even give a physical sensation at my Main Listening Position, if only slightly.

Honestly, the fact that I got them to blend seamlessly with tiny Klipsch Reference LCR and Monitor Audio Bronze FX Bi-pole surrounds deserves a hats-off to the engineers and designers at SVS. I don't even notice the transition from any channel to the subs at this point, whether in movies or music. The lowest frequencies aren't reproduced in many of the movies that I watch, or are reproduced with some distortion (probably due to me running them hot at 20 Hz via the miniDSP), but SVS never claimed that these would extend that low so I'm not at all disappointed; in fact, I've ordered a PC-4000 for that exact reason and can't…

I just upgraded my home theater set up from basic Pioneer's Andrew Jones with a pair of 6" Klipsch's floor standing, matching center channel and surrounds, after doing my research on subs I came across the SB-2000 which is a sub of choice for music and was concerned with the performance in a home theater, well I went with them because my surround and tv are on the living room and wife wouldn't approve something "bulky" but I'm super satisfied with the performance of this subs, took my time to dial them and they sounded good at first but after a couple of weeks of movie watching and video game playing they started to sound even better and now they sound great, movie performance is way beyond of what I was expecting from a sealed sub, love the looks of them with the metal grill.
