    Fantastic with a caveat

    I previously had to SB 16s and upgraded to the SB 17s–this is a huge upgrade. The Subs are more dynamic and articulate, and straight up more powerful. I have an 7.2.4 with Bowers and Wilkins speakers and the subs play very nicely in my theater room for music, cinema and gaming.

    I love that it has 6 bands for EQ as well however I have had the subwoofers basically since they came out and there has been conversation about auto EQ from the beginning and I am very disappointed that this has not been available as this was a feature that I would have been hoping to have by now over a year and a half later.

    I feel like the communication about the R+D for this have been fairly poor -and I was pushing off putting up a review as a result of that. However, it is still very frustrating and I am sure if you were doing your research you are aware it is not out yet at the time of me writing this review.

    Outside of the auto eq issue -the subs are the real deal and I think are pretty good value for a quality product.

    Another gripe, although I would never take away points for it....

    WHY did you guys eliminate the metal grills. I have had it on my previous SVS subs of various models over the years and never had an issue.

    I think it is a great look and provides great protection as well. i think with the new pegs, youd never hear about interference/rattling as they feel more isolated than the old ones.

    I know they probably will never do it - I would love to have an option for…

    16 inch

    I have last year's 16-inch version, and it just kicks booty! I prefer the SB version for music, which is mostly what I use it for. The remote is great too, especially for fine-tuning from your seat. Not cheap, but a good value and worth every dollar! I have the oak version (does not scratch easily).

    Just Monsters!

    Moving from dual SB16's to dual SB17's is an absolutely game changer. Often times, when companies roll out "new and improved" they are really a half-step (or worse, a quarter-step, if that) ... SVS has, again, created another truly impressive sound machine. Cannot recommend the SB17 OR SVS customer service enough!

    SVS Sub in a PS Audio System

    This is my 2nd SB17 which I choose over PS Audio's new sub. This was due to my experience with the first SVS sub and its contribution to the overall sound of the system. I am using the subs in conjunction with PS Audio Aspen FR30s. I get a massive but accurate overall sound with the combination. I also have no concerns of overdriving the system if I get in the mood for pipe organ or cannons. It is only now that I have this setup that I can hear what the recording engineers wanted us to hear of those cannons recorded back in the late 70's. I guess its time to break out the old CDs of jets landing and taking off!
