    Titan towers

Thank you Gary for reaching out for a review of the Titan towers. I have not hooked up the Titans yet as I'm waiting to receive the other speaker to complete the pair. I've been a home theater enthusiast since the early 80's and it is a hobby to me. I'm currently using Boston Acoustics reference L&R soeakers. The Titans will replace the Boston Acoustics pair. Gary, I will submit a new review once the Titans are united.

    Best Speaker I have heard

These kick ass when paired with a great receiver. I am driving these with an Integra DRX 8.4. The more power the better they sound!

“… after silence, that which expresses the inexpressible is music …” Unknown

I am usually not one to write a review of a product, but this listening experience does warrant one! Having grown up in classical music, I have spent most of my life trying to listen to sound reproduction without hearing limitations of speakers and my mind never relaxed enough to stop questioning what I am hearing. These speakers are the first pair that has a presence of sound stage and clarity that I have never heard before!! The sound production is so clean that I can for the first time let my ears and mind lay down in the silence of the sound stage while listening! I have been a huge fan of Carver power from the early 80’s and have always wanted a pair of speakers to handle the power that my set up can push; and very clean, pure power! I run a Carver C-4000 pre-amp with mono block Carver M1.0t power amps! Don’t even ask the power this setup is capable of but at an almost deafening level I am not even pushing the amps! The speakers have so far, with ease, produced some of the cleanest sound I have ever heard!! Sorry if I am repeating myself!! The sound stage even without the Sonic Holography on on the preamp, is off the chart! It sets you squarely in front of the stage as if you are right in front of the performers! Dare I call this design ‘as close to line array’ you will get to without them being that? The subwoofers that work opposing each other help make the presence of even the lowest of…

    Tone and Control

First let me say, thank you to SVS for not only creating musical and ground-shaking subs, but for bringing in a great speaker to compete against other well established speaker companies.

I own a pair of Bose 601 series IV tower speakers, that I have had for about 24 years; they served their purpose musically, and for bringing movies to life. I also have a pair of bookshelf 6 series B&W's that are for my living room space, and they sound great being bi-amped.

I compared the Ultra Evolution Titans and Pinnacles against the B&W 7 series, and the KEF R5 and R7 meta speakers. all of them great but the Titans took it home for me between all of them. The Titans provide that nice sonic bass kick, and musical tone when a bass guitar gets funky, or the electronic bass hits for R&B music and Soul. The B&W and Meta speakers had a touch more focus on their soundstage, but I preferred the open sound that the Titans brought. The soundstage was excellent as well for the Titans but having that open feel (Widened soundstage), felt like you were being immersed with sound and not only in the sweet spot. The band pass box for the Titans I will need to work with, to see how far I need them away from the wall for better overall bass in my room when I have them in Two channel stereo, but with two SVS subs in the room I really won't have to work to hard on that.

Overall, I give the Titans a 5 star rating for their sonic bass, clear vocals that don't strain when pushing to reference level…
