Every aspect of the Prime Tower speakers was designed for sonic excellence. From the premium grade drivers and sophisticated SoundMatch crossover to the extra-thick baffle, internal bracing, and FEA optimized tweeter diffuser, the Prime Tower speaker’s design and engineering credentials place it among the best $1,000 tower speakers available.

Prime Driver & Tweeter Design

Prime Driver & Tweeter Design

Thoughtfully designed for acoustic excellence, the 4.5-inch midrange driver is mounted in its own dedicated and completely sealed compartment to ensure a smooth, precise and clear midrange free from coloration. The cone material is extremely light and rigid and maintains a flat frequency response with excellent handling across the foundational mid-range frequencies.

Dual 6.5-inch woofers deliver effortlessly deep and articulate bass to set the mood and punctuate the low-end impact of instruments, basslines and movie sound effects. Each woofer has a separate internal compartment in the cabinet with its own custom port tuning frequency. The result is deep, powerful and accurate bass you hear and more importantly, feel.

The Prime Tower speaker’s 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter is light, efficient, and rigid, and plays crystal clear at high volumes. The clarity offers a sense of utter transparency, while offering an ‘airy’ presentation and incredibly unveiled highs so female vocals and dialogue always sound crisp and smooth.

Innovative SoundMatch Crossover Design

Ultra Tower Crossover

SVS Ultra Tower Crossover

Since premium drivers require an equally capable crossover, no expense was spared with the innovative SVS SoundMatch 3.5-way crossover. Its tapered array is designed so each woofer has its own discrete crossover to minimize the potential for beaming. This creates an expansive, yet focused and precise soundstage, with accurate frequency response at all listening positions in the room. The precise tuning of the SoundMatch Crossover also ensures pinpoint accuracy from sparkling highs down to palpable lows, while maintaining pristine signal purity.

Performance Driven Cabinet Design and Geometry

Tapered edges on the Prime Tower speaker’s front baffle, known as chamfers, minimize edge diffraction for clear and precise soundstaging. The cabinet’s presence is substantial but it does not take over a room visually and offers a modern industrial feel with acoustic enhancements like shorting rings and a tweeter diffuser. All of these advancements are packed into a sleek but commanding floor standing speaker cabinet available in stunning piano gloss black or premium black ash finish.

Customers say these tower speakers deliver clear, detailed sound with impressive clarity across all ranges. Many reviews mention the speakers excel at both music and movies, providing crisp highs and warm mids. Common feedback includes praise for the build quality and elegant appearance. While most find them excellent value, some note they perform best with proper placement and after a break-in period. Wonderful Upgrade

My towers sound great when I'm playing them so loud that my ears hurt. What more could you want from your speakers?

Currently have an SVS center, L/R, and sub. Everything sounds terrific.

    Excellent performer

Bought a pair of Prime Towers to replace a great but aging pair of Technics SBCR77s for a 2.1 office setup. Paired with a SB2000 Pro - I could not be happier. As was noted by a You Tube review of these by The Cheap Audio Man (a great talent - recommend checking him out) the Primes are very neutral/flat (in a good way) in their response and are very amenable to EQ to suit individual tastes. I use a Yamaha EQ70 to tweak the last touches of what my ears like - and the Primes deliver everything this music junkie musician wants to hear. I have not used any dedicated room EQ (i.e. Dirac) at this point, but will likely do so in the future. Not a pressing issue to my ears at the moment, but as a recovering EE, I know there's always a way to (potentially) improve things. LOL The head end is comprised of a Parasound NC 200 Pre & vintage HCA1500A amp, streaming via Bluetooth LDAC codec to a Topping D90SE DAC from an Astell & Kern DAP. I also installed Soundpath isolation feet on the Primes and the SB 2000 Pro. My highest recommendation for these – they really do help bring out the best that these speakers & sub have to offer. I also use the Soundpath on a very large 20-year-old Velodyne sub in my main listening room as well – it improved an already great sound. Not snake oil to my ears. The Primes are in a fairly large open den/office area with vaulted ceilings that also doubles as a play area for darts and exercising. At first glance one would think this beyond the capabilities of…

    Good looks & sound

I just received a pair of SVS Prime towers last week and impressed with the improvement in my system. My previous setup had a pair of Fluance XL8 towers purchased in Oct. 2020 and the SVS Ultra Center (April 2020) for the front stage. My setup is a 5.2. 4 with a Marantz 6014 and dual 2000 pros.

I was having a problem with the center sounding boomy and felt that something was missing. After trying all the suggestions from online forum's I was convinced that I needed a separate amplifier for the fronts but was discouraged by AV Rant's Tom & Rob that a separate amplifier would not solve the issue. They suggested that I would get a better result by spending money on new left & right speakers rather than an amp.

I purchased dual SVS PB1000 in june 2019. Then moved up to dual NSDs12s in Dec 2019 and dual PB2000 Pros in May 2020. The Ultra Center is the best center channel Ive owned. I guess I'm a SVS fan. So, I decided to upgrade to the Prime Towers. Now my front stage is seamless with no boomy sound from the dialog and good channel separation. The extra cost for the piano gloss finish was well worth it. Every time I walk by them I smile.
