Prime Wireless Pro SoundBase

I purchased the Wireless Pro Soundbase to power built-in ceiling speakers in a kitchen renovation. I was specifically looking for something that was smaller in depth than standard sized AV amps and receivers, because I added an in-wall cabinet built-in where I wanted to house the unit.

My primary tech feature was blutooth streaming from phones.

The size turned out to be perfect for my cabinet, and I'm happy enough with the overall sound quality, although I did add a subwoofer into the mix, which makes a huge difference in the overall sound quality.

For my use case, I'm using Paradigm ceiling speakers, and a Paradigm amp because I already owned those and I wanted to stay budget friendly, while keeping my options open for future upgrades.

This is my first SVS purchase, which I'd place on the "entry level" end of their product spectrum; I knew about the company because of their well regarded reputation in the higher end home theater AV market, where they're widely regarded as a "Bang for the Buck" leader in terms of price and quality.

The Pro SoundBase doesn't have the dynamic range or punch of well designed and built out hometheater system, but that's not where it comes into the market in terms of price or function.

For me. to add a dedicated audio source into a new area of a home, without resorting to using Zone 2 or Zone 3 with the requisite cabling from a primary AV amp, this device fit the mission brief, and it performs to my satisfaction.

Overall the sound quality…

After reading the reviews, and after using the PB-1000 Pro for almost a year on my home theater setup, I decide to purchase this. I have 2 old Sony tower speakers that I knew have some decent quality. I believe I got them in the late 90s, but while using them with a receiver as part of the home theater, I knew something was missing when I listened to music. For years I just dealt with that and eventually just watched movies.

This Soundbase with the PB-1000 Pro subwoofer brought back the type of sound I remember when I was younger when my dad had a Technics Hi-Fi system. Although I think the towers I have don't reproduce high fidelity, I am pretty happy with the result for now. You can really feel the punch when listening to music with this. I can't wait to get myself some SVS Prime Tower speakers in the near future; simply amazing!
