SVS Home Audio Glossary

Infrasonic

Infrasonic refers to sounds and notes that occur at frequencies below the audible range of human hearing. Although inaudible, infrasonic frequencies are a critical part of many movie soundtracks, and certain music like pipe organs, and include everything below 20Hz. If reproduced with enough amplitude, infrasonic sound can be physically felt in the sternum and extremities. The best powered subwoofers are engineered to play down into the infrasonic range, which results in a visceral and tactile sonic experience often described as "pressurizing a room".

SVS powered subwoofers are renowned for delivering infrasonic sound to create a more palpable and exciting listening experience with music and home theater audio.
