Peak Power
Peak power is the highest wattage a powered subwoofer amplifier can deliver in short bursts. Peak power is important when measuring a subwoofer's ability to produce sonic slam and impact. It also accounts for a subwoofer's ability to convey a sense of effortless power when pushed to the absolute limits. While not as important as RMS, or continuous power, in judging a subwoofer's general performance, peak power is an important statement about a subwoofer’s maximum output capabilities.
